Different from a typical nursing home, SCRNC is staffed with registered nurses 24/7 working with a team of respiratory therapists to provide around-the-clock comprehensive services for Tracheostomy and Respiratory patients. We are an approved VA Benefits tracheostomy services provider and respiratory services are available to all residents.
Other support staff include physical and occupational therapists, speech pathologists, dietitians and social workers.
What is a Tracheostomy?
A tracheostomy is a surgical procedure that creates an opening in the neck to place a tube into the windpipe (trachea) allowing a person to breathe without using their nose or mouth.
Indications for Tracheostomy
